Mobile Ads in India grows by 27%, Top Asian Markets



The Indian mobile advertising market has grown by 27% to 1.5 billion impressions between October 2010 and January 2011 for mobile advertising network Inmobi, which is the world’s second largest mobile advertising network after Google’s AdMob.


The finding is part of InMobi’s January 2011 Mobile Insights Report - India Market. With 59 per cent market share, Nokia continues to be the top manufacturer in India, followed by Samsung with 24 per cent impression share. These two competitors account for 83 per cent of total impressions served in the Indian mobile market--and are followed by Sony Ericsson, LG and Micromax

With a 700-million mobile users in India( updated till March 31sts ) the number is increasing by 10-15 million every month. Of these, nearly 50-60 million users are active mobile Internet users while around 150-million people have activated GPRS on their mobile phones,

There has been a 44% growth in smartphone impressions with 3G network roll outs recently, The country takes the top spot among Asian countries with 44 per cent share out of the total 4.3 billion impressions a month in the region.
