“When users connect to Photofeed (Pixable’s app), our system has access to all Facebook photo related information, and this allowed us to run different analytics queries specifically around profile photo uploads. We compiled interesting sets of data around factors such as: photo upload dates and frequency, likes, comments, gender, age, volume of photos.”
Leder Hosen
I wonder to which party they sell this kind of user information? If they do that at all. I will prove to be a tough nut to crack if online marketeers want to target me at all. What will they choose? An ad for lamb chops? Tomatoe soup? They won’t be able to pin me down. Who is this guy? A sheep shearer? (No thanks I’m not shearing), a cartoon freak, a tomatoe fetishist? And what about my ‘love-to-be-in-the-Alps trying-to-look-tough’ picture? Will they be targetting me with Leder Hosen deals? Great! By all means, target me, go right ahead. I’m easy! And I’ve never had those…specifically like the ones with suspenders!

They know...they know...
Anyhow, I wonder about all the private data they assemble! Will every shot of your favourite dish (sausage) make you a willing victim for obesity ads? Will my love for the Alps target me as a lover of leather and all the brash things you’re thinking about right now? Who knows? They do!
They track, and they track...
So beware me FaceBook maties, it’s not only your words that they track, it is your pictures and picture-posting-habits also. Make sure you don’t post too many pictures with file names such as home, dusk, or old version, otherwise you might end up being targeted with online ads for nursing homes or mp3’s with Slim Whitman songs…when I think of yououhoooohoooohoohooohohooo, they’ll be tracking you tooohoooohooooohooohoohooohooo…..
